Sonam arrived at Jhamtse Gatsal in September of 2019 from the village of Kharteng. She is the youngest of 5 siblings. Her father is a farmer.

She is happy and enjoys being here with her new family members. She is a charming, responsible, caring, enthusiastic, and well-behaved child. She wants to participate in everything in the community like; working in the family garden with her Amala (house mother); doing dishes in the kitchen, cleaning campus with her older sisters and brothers; checking out picture books in the library with her friends; setting up her classroom; playing different sports; learning new songs and dances, studying, drawing and doing other activities in the class. Drawing is her favorite activity.

She is working on her body coordination, motor skills, social-emotional skills, English, Hindi, Bhoti, and numbers. She is learning to read and write small sentences on her own in English.

Child ID: 1909099
