Greetings of the New Year from Jhamtse Gatsal. I hope you ended last year on a happy, healthy, and safe note and brought in the new year with hope and joy. I am pleased to share that I write this first message of the year from my room at Jhamtse Gatsal. My heart rejoices at sharing this moment with you.
Let me start by thanking you, our steadfast Jhamtse Supporter, for generously supporting our year-end fundraising and helping us exceed our goal. A deep bow of gratitude and appreciation. We could not have done it without your generosity, faith, and open-heartedness - thank YOU!
We look forward to sharing stories of our purchase of new laptops for the children and our Jhamtse Educational Model developments. Stay tuned!

This picture is my visualization of Gen la's dedication and that of Jhamtse Gatsal's staff. A special thanks to Gen Nawang, our in-house medical officer, without whom it would have been hard to manage during the COVID lockdown. All the staff and children in the Community were able to spread love, care, and support within the community and the outer world. We tried to spread the compassion shown by our supporters by providing relief funds to families from the neighboring regions who were in need in this difficult time. - Raju K.
In a very critical situation of the pandemic, our Community faced a lot of problems, but we stayed united and faced the problems through various preventive methods. We, as a Community, are grateful for the sponsors and board members who stayed with this Community through this difficult situation. You all inspired us to get united, not just for ourselves but also for the people outside the Community. Your support gave us the strength to stand up for ourselves even in this challenging situation. The very idea of uniting ourselves germinated from your seed of love and support. The fruits of those seeds are enjoyed by many.
You helped us and gave us everything we needed when this unfortunate pandemic shut down businesses, communities, and shops. We thought that we would unite and help those going through suffering at this time. We wanted to give back some of the love we received from our donors so that their hard work would not go in vain. We engaged in various things like mask making, creating awareness in the locals about the pandemic, donating to families in need, and even simple things like thanking those who work for us, like doctors and the police. - Tashi P.
This last year, when the world was mostly in lockdown, we got to play many games— like basketball, football, badminton, etc. We discovered many games too and had a good time with all the members of the Jhamtse Community. Sharing our skills and knowing each other better was the best part of this lockdown time. We enjoyed each others' company, and this was when we became pretty inseparable. The close relationship we have and our trust in each other grew strong. For me, it was one of the happiest times with my Jhamtse family. I feel this lockdown has helped us strengthen our bond, and I thank the supporters who have made it so. I will always pray to God and be grateful for this. From my side, I want to help protect our bond and only make it stronger. - Dorjee Y.
