You are enabling the growth of Jhamtse Gatsal as well as the Jhamtse vision and mission beyond our expectations. Gen Lobsang Phuntsok La was one of ten visionaries from different fields in Arunachal Pradesh who were invited to interact with the Honorable Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu, in the first week of October. The panel discussed various aspects of the development of the state, such as education, environment, and tourism.
In the last week of November, Gen Lobsang Phuntsok La was honored for his work in the field of transformative education, sustainable development, and social entrepreneurship in the Mon region (where Jhamtse Gatsal is located) by Monpa Mimang Tsokpa, an NGO which aims to unite and work towards the development of all people of the Monpa tribe, to which most of our children and local staff members belong.
Our High School Geography teacher and Sports coach, Tenzin D., has been selected to receive a grant from The Huracán Foundation. With the support of the Foundation, Tenzin hopes to increase girls' participation in sports and focus on inculcating transformational education through sports.
As Gen Lobsang La often shares with everyone within the Community and beyond, we could not do this good work without you and your support. We hope you enjoy reading the report and seeing all the photos. We wish to draw your attention to the last section of the report in which we share photos of the second family duplex that is now home to the remaining two Jhamtse Gatsal families. Now, the four Jhamtse families live in their beautiful family houses, which enable them to build stronger and more nurturing ties with each other. To everyone who has contributed to our Capital Campaign over the years, we extend a deep bow of gratitude for making this dream come true.
As we are celebrating Losar, the Tibetan New Year, we take this opportunity to share our best wishes for peace, good health, and happiness in the new year for you and your loved ones.
